2013 Destination Races??

Seems alot of AFRC activity this year with everyone flying all over the place for races.  Even at work, I recently talked to some people doing the Lucerne (Switzerland) Marathon and the Warsaw Marathon.  So…anybody have any plans or interest in a 2013 destination race?

Save the Date!! Club-Sponsored Race May 24th — The Legal Runaround

Below is the link to the seventh “running” of the Legal Runaround 5k and 3k Poker Walk which is scheduled to take place on Thursday evening, May 24 in Somerville, NJ.  Amazing Feet has always been the running club sponsor for this event, and we have historically had a wonderful turnout of volunteers and runners.  As such, we are looking for as many volunteers and/or runners again this year!   The event raises funds for the Somerset County Bar Foundation which supports causes related to the Somerset County justice system and provides an annual legal scholarship.

Please respond to this post or email Jodi at jalper@lasserhochman.com if you can volunteer.  We also invite members to run in the race, if they prefer.

Please be sure to mark your calendars and plan to come out to the event – we need lots of volunteers!

Ragner Relays!

I wanted to gauge the club’s interest in assembling a team for a Ragner Relay this year.  Ragner Relays are overnight running relays that span approximately 200 miles. Teams are generally made up of 12 people and each person runs 3 legs that can range anywhere between 3 and 8 miles during the day or at night.  There are three (relatively local ones) that we could choose from this fall: (1) Cumberland, MD to Washington DC (Sept. 21-22); (2) Saratoga Springs to Lake Placid, NY (Sept. 28-29); (3) Lancaster to Mt. Pocono, PA (Oct 5-6).  If we decide to do the Pa. one, we will also have to provide 3 volunteers because we live within 100 miles of any point along the course.  Registration ends in June.  Please visit the website: http://ragnarrelay.com/running_events.  I hope we can get a team together!!
